My name is James Russell Gibson, Jr. I was born in Gastonia, NC a graduate of Ashbrook High School, Class of 1993. I attended school at UNC Charlotte with a four year degree in Criminal Justice. After being in the work force for a few years, I decided to go to barber school. I graduated from the Hairstyling Institute of Charlotte in 2001 and worked at a few shops in and around Charlotte.

While working at these shops was great, I decided to go out on my own and opened a barbershop called City Barbers at Uptown LLC. After 2 years of successful business, I decided to open a second location, City Barbers at Highland Creek.

My ultimate goal is to give the best haircut in town while providing excellent customer service in a friendly and laid back atmosphere. If I can provide great service and a great hair cut at a reasonable price… then there is nowhere to go but up. Hopefully one day you will see more and more City Barber’s shops around Charlotte!
